Now I know you've probably heard some hard-luck stories, but you won't believe my story. I was rescued from a storm drain when I was a kitten! Yup! You see, I was minding my own business and all of a sudden WHOOSH! I fell down a storm drain alongside a street. Lucky for me there wasn't any water in there. Anyway, I cried and cried and some people heard me and called the Fat Cat people, who called the fire department and lo and behold they arrived in their big white truck. The firemen were named John and Mark, and their captain was a lady named Shannon. Captain Shannon got into the drain and pulled me out. I was named in her honor, because she plucked me from the drain and saved my life. My brother, John Mark, was named in honor of John and Mark.

We were adopted by a young couple as kittens, and they returned us to Fat Cat Rescue after 8 YEARS.  Yup, you got that right.  Our family (which included 3 young children by this time) was moving to Iowa, and they didn't want the trouble of taking us with them.  The Fat Cat people gladly took us back and cared for us and loved us.  It took us months to adjust to being in a new home.  But me and John Mark are doing great now.

John Mark and I recently went to the vet's for a check up, and found out that I have a heart murmur.  The doctor doesn't know if will get worse or not, and I don't have any problems now, and besides, there isn't anything they can do about it anyway.  Whoever adopts me will just have to love me the way I am.  The Fat Cat people are convinced it's because I have such a big heart and am such a sweetheart!

Pick me!
