I was named in honor of John and Mark, two firemen who rescued my brother from a storm drain. John and Mark were big guys, and they spent alot of time down in the big pipes trying to figure out where my brother Shannon was, and trying to coax him along (he wouldn't have any of it). Boy were they brave! They're my heroes! Shannon was named after the captain, a lady named Shannon.

We were adopted by a young couple as kittens, and they returned us to Fat Cat Rescue after 8 YEARS.  Yup, you got that right.  Our family (which included 3 young children by this time) was moving to Iowa, and they didn't want the trouble of taking us with them.  The Fat Cat people gladly took us back and cared for us and loved us.  It took us months to adjust to being in a new home -- especially me.  I was grumpy and growly and really hated being away from my family.  But Shannon and I are doing great now.

My brother and I recently went to the vet's for a checkup, and I'm healthy.  Shannon has a heart murmur.  We are brother and pals, and it would be great if we could go to a home together.  We realize that may not be possible, and we need to be flexible.  Anyway, I'm a little shy, and I don't like having my toenails clipped.  Other than that I don't have any vices.  Except maybe food.  I love to eat and the doctor suggested I lose some weight.

Pick me!
