Badger: Hi!

Badger

Hello, there, my name is Badger.  I was pulled from a shelter by the Fat Cat people.  I was a favorite at the shelter because I'm SUPER friendly and talkative.  And I look really Siamese-cat like, and I'm very smart.  I love other cats, and would do well in just about any type of household.

Did you know black cats are hard to find homes for?  We're the first ones to be euthanized at shelters, and usually the last to be adopted.  It's true.  But the Fat Cat people think God gave black cats super sweet personalities to help them find homes.  Won't you give me a chance?  I don't care what color you are!

The shelter had this to say about me:

The staff here keeps telling me I'm the cutest little thing.  I'm always seeking affection.  Give me a rub and I will softly purr with contentment.  I'm very curious and love spending time exploring new area and finding new things to play with. I'm the friendly feline companion you've been looking for!

Bingley

Bingley

I'm the best cat. That's what mom calls me. I'm not sure what that means, but it must be good. I really, really like people, and like to jump in their arms or into their laps. My brothers Theo and Mr. Darcy, and sisters Elizabeth and Zoe, were rescued from a shelter in Fresno. I prefer being with people to playing, but I do have a tendency to investigate the medicine chest, and really like to play with Q-tips.

I was named for the character in Jane Austen's novel, Pride and Prejudice.

Blarney: Another boring fair

Blarney

We were on the "needs rescue list" at a local shelter.  The shelter was filling up and we were in danger of being put to sleep, so the Fat Cat people took us home.

I'm the smallest of the clan.  My brother Bug is very friendly, and he's always the one getting all the attention, because he runs right up to people.  I always follow him, and do whatever he does.  My foster mom tells me I'm very good-looking, because I have a "ticked" tabby pattern, which is unusual.  I am extremely friendly and give nose-to-nose kisses to my foster dad every day. When it's nap time -- which is just about any time for a kitten -- I like to drape myself across the shoulders and neck of any person and fall asleep. I am an amazing acrobat when chasing the toy mouse on the string, and when I catch it, don't even think of taking it away! I'm sweet, quiet and cuddly, and now all I need is a permanent home to call my own.

Bug: Another boring adoption fair

Bug

We were on the "needs rescue list" at the shelter.  The shelter was filling up and we were in danger of being put to sleep, so the Fat Cat people took us home.

I'm the friendliest of the clan.   I run right up to people and want to be held. And I love to snuggle with my foster family while they're watching TV.  If any of my siblings are getting petted, I tend to get a little jealous, and demand to be part of the action.  I will stand on my hind legs and gently pat my foster mom’s face as a greeting.

My favorite toy is a mouse that rattles, which I will intentionally hide under the sheet and then immediately find again as if I didn’t know it was there. My foster mom especially likes how I dip my paw in the water bowl and lick the water off.  I enjoy tackling and wrestling with my brother, Brewster, because we are both the same size and it is a fair fight, but when I want to go to sleep I seek out my little sister Blossom to cuddle with. My other brother Blarney and I are both very affectionate to people. It would be wonderful if I could find a permanent home with one or more of my siblings.

Cassie

Cassie

Hi, my name is Cassie!  My sister Chloe Samantha  -- Sammy to me! -- and I were surrendered to a local shelter when we were about seven weeks old.  We were thin and hungry and loaded with fleas, and needed TLC.  The Fat Cat people saw our pictures and knew they could find us good homes, so they took us and put us in one of their foster homes, where we've been for about a month.  We're now nice and chubby and healthy, and ready to go to a new home!  I am a very friendly little fella with cream colored fur and beautiful Snowshoe markings.  I love to be held, and I like to jump up to my foster mom’s lap for a cuddle.

Come and meet me!

Chrissy

My brothers and sisters and me were rescued a few months ago from a local shelter.  We had colds and were going to be put to sleep, but the Fat Cat people saw our pathetic photos and took us and gave us some medicine and now we're fine.  We are all very sweet and start purring the moment we're petted.

I'm a people kitten: I love to be around people and follow people around, and love to be held and get lots of pets.  I'm also very curious, and like to supervise my foster mom while she does laundry -- me and my brother Cooper like to jump inside the dryer when my foster mom opens the door.  We also like to jump on and hide inside the pile of warm, freshly-laundered clothes and surprise our foster mom.

Clover: Aren't I gorgeous?

Clover

I lost my person.  I was adopted many years ago by a wonderful senior citizen.  She adored me and I adored her.  She fed me and brushed me and talked to me (I'm a BIG talker), and I'd curl up next to her on the couch to watch TV.  But then she died: I knew she was ill, and spent all my time curled up next to her, on her bed.  I was curled up next to her on her bed when her family found her.  I wouldn't leave her side.

I am a rare Nebelung cat.   I am true to my breed with long silvery blue fur, wide green eyes, a soft voice and a gentle, quiet disposition.  Although I am an older cat, I have no health problems.

I like napping, playing with little stuffed mice, napping, watching Animal Planet on television and napping.   My favorite part of the day was when my person came home.   My most favorite place in the whole world is on a warm lap.  If you talk to me I will always answer you.  I am very polite that way.  Please be forewarned that I am very talkative -- I have alot to share.

My past, which I don't really like to discuss, was rough: I was raised by a hoarder, and had 20 or so kittens (awful that I can't remember my own children!) by the time I was 2 years old. Eventually the hoarder could no longer care for all of us, and all my kittens were adopted, but no one wanted me, so the folks at Fat Cat took me in.

When I first arrived I felt I had to compete for food and attention, for that's how my life had been. But the Fat Cat people loved me and reassured me, and I became very loving and sweet. I'm now in a foster home, and look forward to my forever home.

I'm the lover boy of the group; I follow my foster mom around like a puppy, and purr and collapse into her arms the moment she picks me up.  I'm a good size already (my white sneakers are big and fuzzy), and will probably grow to be a big boy.  I always want to be around people, and would do well in just about any situation. My sister Cissy looks alot like me, and people often can't tell us apart.  I like all my siblings, and get along with everybody.

Delilah Boo: Purr machine

Delilah Boo

Hola compadres! Mi nombre es Boo. That's right! Not only do I understand English but some Spanish too!!! I love different languages and can adapt easily to those that are spoken around me. I like to think of myself as sensitive to all people. In fact, I am an all-around sweet kitten. There is no one that I will exclude as a playmate.

I am also very adventurous. I was the first out of the cage and the first to go exploring. At my foster home, I've been behind the oven, under the bed, between the pillows, and in the clothes hamper. My favorite hiding spot is in the closet behind the hanging clothes. However, I get lonely pretty quickly so I never hide too long!

Honestly, you can't pet me enough. I really enjoy being scratched behind the ears and under the chin. If I do not get the attention I'm craving, I will climb on your shoulders and rub my nose in your hair. I have to warn you, it is difficult to resist my soft fur and gentle nudging.

Read no further, you have found the one. I will be your lifelong compadre!

Dewey: Me shortly after we were trapped

Dewey

Me and my sister were rescued from a shipping container at a business in Santa Clara.  Our mom figured -- quite rightly -- that was a warm, safe place for us.  The shipping container was used for storing bar stools, and the Fat Cat people had quite a time removing all those stools one-by-one in order to nab us and our mom!

I'm a lover boy.  I like people, and I like to crawl in your arms and lick your nose.  Sometimes this strategy isn't so popular, but it seems to be tolerated by my foster mom.  I also have a favorite toy, a long piece of fleece attached to a wand toy.  Once I see this toy I kinda go nuts, and revert to my feline tiger side and drag the toy around and growl, so that no one dare get close and try to take my toy away.

I really love my sister, and hope we can find a home together.  She's alot smaller than me, and gets excited easily and likes to perch on people's laps and make biscuits.

Eli: Let's talk

Eli

We were surrendered to a local shelter when we were about 6 weeks old.  We weren't very happy to be in the shelter -- we were scared and frightened and missed our mom --  and we hissed and spat at the shelter staff.  They decided we weren't "adoption candidates" and placed us on a "special needs list" -- in other words, if a rescue group didn't take us, we were goners.  Fortunately the Fat Cat people saw our photos and knew we'd settle down once we were out of the shelter and got lots of love and attention.

I am a handsome Tuxedo kitten and I'm very loving and playful.  Just like my brother Ethan, I really like people and when you pick me up, I will start purring immediately.  I don't mind telling you that out of all my siblings, my fur is the softest, just like velvet.  I guess I was just born lucky.  I love playing with my brother and sisters.  I'm the strong silent type -- I'm not a talker.  Sometimes I like to nibble my foster mom's hair - it's just my way of saying thanks for taking care of me!  I can't wait for someone special to adopt me.

Won't you take me home?

I'm a bit shy, and it takes me a little while to get used to people, but once I do, I start purring right away when you pick me up or pet me.  I LOVE to play, and come running when I hear the jingle of my favorite feather cat toy.  I like that toy so much that I often drag it off to my favorite hiding spot so that I don't have to share it with Ella.  Both my sister and me must have some Siamese blood, because we both have the long, narrow face of a Siamese.  I don't like to beg for pets (like my sister Ella), but my favorite thing is to cuddle and nap next to my foster mom.  Just don't roll over and squish me -- I'm not a talker!

Please take me home with you!

Hi!  I'm Geraldine, and me and my siblings were rescued from a local shelter; we were real small, and at risk for being put to sleep, so the Fat Cat people took us.

I'm very beautiful, and my lovely dark stripes contrast nicely with my silver coat.  I'm so beautiful that when we all play together I often get distracted by my image in the mirrors on the closet door, and stop playing and stare at myself in the mirror.  I can't believe how pretty I am!  I do love to be petted and held, and will come up behind you if you're sitting down and tap tap tap you on your back so that you know I'm there.

Hank

Hi!  My name is Hank, and me and siblings were brought to a local shelter.  We were tiny and malnourished, but the Fat Cat people saw us and took us in and got us healthy. All my siblings have been adopted, and I'm in a wonderful foster home.

I am a very handsome and fluffy orange boy with a very sweet personality. I am very curious and like to follow my foster mom around and watch her quietly. Every night, I follow her upstairs when it’s time to go to bed. She says I am an A+ companion.

I get along really well with both people and cats, but my favorite playmate is Trooper (he is looking for a forever home too!). When I need grooming, I just jump in the cat bed with him and he cleans my face and my ears. We play-wrestle together and chase each other – it’s so fun and great exercise for both of us. It would be wonderful if we could be adopted together.

I have a giant purr and don’t mind getting picked up for snuggles. I am also fearless – even the vacuum cleaner doesn’t bother me!

Come meet me and take me home -- and Trooper too!

I'm the lover of the group.  I have beautiful white fur with pale pink ears and nose. I love playing with my siblings, but in quiet moments, I’m content to crawl into my foster mom’s lap for some snuggles and TLC. I am a quiet soul with the prettiest light blue eyes. I’m a lover, not a fighter.

Hi!  My name is Hettie, and me and siblings were brought to a local shelter.  We were tiny and malnourished, but the Fat Cat people saw us and took us in and got us healthy. We're now all in a great foster home.

Don't let my "movie star beauty" (as I've heard that humans around me discuss) fool you...I'm one of the most playful and fun little felines you may ever encounter. I'm not afraid to scale to great heights, dash after toys, or engage in intense wrestling with my siblings. The most brave and intrepid of explorers, I am the first of us all to investigate new sights and smells, then faithfully let the others know when I've determined a scene is safe. I've recently learned to fetch, when the mood strikes, returning a toy endlessly to my foster family for another throw. However, when the excitement dies down a bit, I am quite sentimental, and will serenade with purring as I fall asleep, making any shape of lap a perfect bed, lounging for an hour or more.

My siblings and I were found abandoned at a low-income housing complex. A nice lady saw us and tried to keep us, but she had to move, and so contacted the Fat Cat people.

I'm a gorgeous boy, with a beautiful coat, and a nice ruff.  I'm sweet and gentle, and curious and friendly with other cats -- I'm not a fighter.  And I'm happy: I often just walk around purring.  I admit I've done some pretty silly things in my various foster homes, like when my foster dad was out of the house, and I unrolled the entire roll of toilet paper all over the bathroom.  It was lots of fun, and I trained the human (they learn quickly) to put the toilet paper roll out of my reach.

At the adoption fairs you can find me purring away, and making biscuits, which is my signature thing to do!

I'd do best in a quiet home.

Imogene: I get the best bed

Imogene

My sisters and me were rescued from a local shelter.  Me and Irene still need a home.

I'm the beautiful tortoiseshell of the group.  I'm very talkative and really like people, though to be honest I'm getting kinda tired of going to adoption fairs every week and not having anybody pick me.  I just don't get it: I'm very sweet and smart and beautiful -- my coat is a gorgeous splatter print of black, brown and orange (did you know only female cats can be tortoiseshells?).  I'm also very curious, and am definitely a leader.  One of my neat attention-getting tricks is jumping on the window ledge so that I'm at eye level -- this way my foster mom can't miss me.  Irene and I like to visit our foster mom's laundry room, where we help her with the laundry by hiding in the pile of dirty clothes, sitting on the dryer and supervising her loading the clothes into the washer, jumping into the dryer (once it's opened) and sitting on the warm clothes, and knocking over the neat little piles of folded, clean clothes.  We know she appreciates the help.

Our latest foster mom and dad have this to say about me: "Imogene is darling. Under her tortoiseshell fur she is a complete love bug. She will sit on your lap anytime. She is also quite funny: sometimes she is rolling on the bed and might have one leg hanging off the bed. It's hard to describe her funny poses, but her antics make us smile.

Both Imogene and Irene are extremely well behaved. They play with each other and run all over the house; it fills the house with joy. They both have different ways of showing you that they love you. One will talk and meow it while other will just come sit next to you and place one paw on you. They are curious and smart, and will win anyone's heart  --  just like they did ours!"

We were rescued from a local shelter when we were just 3 weeks old.  We're a funny looking group: super thin and long-legged, kinda like feline greyhounds.  Our foster mom kept trying to fatten us up by feeding us and feeding us and giving us worm medicine (thinking maybe we had worms and that's why we didn't gain weight).  She just didn't understand that we're naturally lean kittens.  I think she wishes she was thin like us.

Junie

Hi!  I'm Junie, and I'm lookin for a new home.  My siblings and I were born to a mama cat way out in Lodi.  A very nice lady realized that cats should live in a home, with fleece blankets and tummy rubs, and took us in and fostered us.

I'm a classic black & white, my nose has a white stripe and I have some white around my mouth, kind of like a milk-mustache. I have short, smooth, sleek fur, with white feet and a mostly white tummy. I have two brothers, Joey and Jamie, and although I am the smallest, I chase my brothers as much as they chase me. I love toys and have a ton of energy. When I am done playing, I enjoy cuddles although I'd rather sit next to you rather than in your lap. When you snuggle me I purr, purr, purr!

I've had it rough.  I was rescued as a kitten by a kind, young woman with a big heart.  She loved me and cared for me, but fell into drugs and alcohol and could no longer care for me.  A relative of hers took me in, but had to keep me in a cage outside because she was allergic.  She realized this was not the best for me, and contacted the Fat Cat people for help.

So here I am.  I can't believe my luck that I'm indoors now -- no more cold, rainy nights for me!  I love, love, love people and need lots of love and attention.  I also love food, and frankly need to lose a few pounds (I tip the scales at 14 pounds).  I'm healthy, and have had all my shots.  I have a good set of lungs (I have a loud Siamese meow), and talk when I'm scared or need a cuddle.  Speaking of cuddles, my two favorite things to do are  to crawl into your lap (and stay there) and purr and make biscuits, or stretch out next to the laptop (so that she can pet me at any time ) while my foster mom is on the computer.  I'm a gentle fellow, and haven't shown any aggression towards other cats -- just curiosity.

Magnolia

Magnolia

We were found in the basement of a building at a construction site in San Jose and taken to the San Jose shelter when my babies were only 2 weeks old.   Since baby cats can't stay at the shelter, we needed a home quick!  A Fat Cat Rescue person saw our photos and took all of us. My babies have all been adopted.

I like people, I like to be kissed and fussed over, and of course, like being a mama.  I'm also very talkative, and affectionate.  And I'm a beauty! Did you know mama cats have a reputation as making great family pets?

My foster mom had this to say about me:

Maggie is very special. When she first arrived home we thought she would take a while to get familiar and friendly, we were pleasantly surprised to see how easily she adjusted to the new space and us. She has showered us with love. Not a day has passed when I return home from work and she doesn't come to greet me. She follows me all around the house until I pet her. If I am carrying groceries and decide to put them in place before petting her, she does everything she can to get my attention -- from rolling on the floor to show her belly, to meowing and jumping in front of me.  She sits like a little baby in my arm, and loves to watch outside the window. Early in the morning she purrs and comes to me demanding she be petted. Every time I pick her up she purrs; her purr is loud!  And don't be surprised if she licks your hand or cheek when you carry her. All you have to do is love her and she loves you back with all her heart. I can boldly say she is the warmest and kindest kitty I have met.

I was brought into the shelter with my siblings Mickey and Minnie when were only 3 weeks old.  We were really scrawny little flea bags (I only weighed 10 ounces).  Fortunately the shelter staff took pity on us, and we were put into a foster home.  When we got a little bigger we were brought back to the shelter to be adopted.  The Fat Cat people took one look at me and knew they could find me a home since I'm so pretty, and they took me home.

I'm adjusting well to my new foster home, and Penny is my roomie.  She and I play-wrestle and then take naps together.  My foster mom says I have perfectly round, pale blue eyes and she's a big fan of my dark ears, tail, and little socks.  I may be quiet, but I am very interested in everything that's going on around me.  I love to be petted and I have a nice, loud purr motor. I recently discovered another cat in my room -- it looked just like me (she was gorgeous), and moved like me and boy it was scary! I defended myself against the intruder by standing up on my hind legs and batting at her with my paws until I fell over, but my foster mom just laughed and tried to explain that I was just looking into a mirror, whatever that is!

My roommate Penny is a little older and braver than I am.  But is it so wrong to just want to cuddle? I may be smaller than her, but I can hold my own!  The only question is, what do I do with her tail once I manage to catch it?

I'm the smart one.  I like to explore, and was the first one to jump into the warm dryer (we were being fostered in a large laundry room).  My foster mom quickly figured out that I was the one to "watch."  I'm not sure what that means, but I took it to mean that I was really special. Meow!  My name is Mercedes and I'm a talkative, energetic girl. I will greet you at the door
when you come home, and talk to you until you play with me!

My favorite hobby is exploring, especially the insides of cardboard boxes and anything crinkly or rustling. My favorite toy is a little pom-pom which I pick up in my mouth, carry around the room, and bat around with my paws.

I'm a smart kitty too. My foster mom is clicker-training me and teaching me new tricks! I can
come, sit, jump up on command, and I'm even learning to speak on cue. After we finish playing, I would love to sit on your lap and watch a movie with you.

Did you know black cats are the last to be adopted, and first to be euthanized at shelters? But did you know that black cats are considered good luck in Britain?  The Fat Cat Rescue people think black cats are really wonderful, and that God gave them great personalities so that people would love them.

Won't you please take me home?

My original post about me said:

Hi there!  My name is Mercedes.  I'm a gentle and loving kitten that is as cute as can be.  I will run and greet you and purr when you pick me up. I enjoy playing with my siblings and climbing high up on the cat tree.  I would love to be part of your family.

O'Leary: Did someone spike the punch?

O'Leary

Boy am I glad to be out of the wilds of Woodside. I woulda gotten eaten by a coyote or somethin' up there. Kindly Mr. O'Leary noticed me and my brother and sister on his deck, and called the Fat Cat people for help. I was named in his honor.

My sibs O'Malley and O'Doul have been adopted, but I'm still waiting for a home, and I gotta say I'm doing my  darndest to get adopted by being adorable and cute and sweet.  I hope someone falls in love with me soon -- being so sweet and agreeable and fawning over humans is exhausting for a cat.   I have a very special tail -- it's very long, and flops over my back, and swings to and fro when I walk.  All the other cats are jealous.

My most recent pastime is snoozing atop the computer router; it's nice and warm and has several blinking lights that are interesting.  From that vantage point I can keep an eye on what's happening.  Mimi is my good buddy, and we often hang out together.  But I'm really a people cat.

Hey there, I'm Patch! My favorite activity is to watch my siblings play while I'm tucked away in your arms, and then to jump out and chase after them, especially if they're chasing after that fuzzy mouse or crinkle ball.

My other favorite activity is to snuggle. I always want to be right next to you and be the center of attention. When you come into a room, I will rub up against you and not leave your side until you've petted me. Sometimes my human friends need a reminder that I'm there and so therefore I plop down next on top of their feet and let them rub my belly. And sometimes if I'm not getting enough attention,  or I can't find my human friends, I'll meow to let them know where I am so they can come get me and hold me and pet me.

I'll also try to get their attention by making air biscuits or pawing the air to say, "hi I'm here!" My favorite place to sleep is curled up right next to my human friends, sometimes even on their chest so I'm closest to them. I also love being held like a baby while my belly is rubbed, or just over your shoulder. I will even make biscuits while being held because I love it so much.

Can't wait to snuggle with you!

Pavarotti

Pavarotti

I'm not sure how I ended up in the bushes in an office complex, but I'm glad a kind lady fed me for a while and contacted the Fat Cat people to help me. (Hey! Is that some kind of crack about my size?) Even though I was outside for quite a while, you can see that I haven't missed many meals! I don't remember my original name, but because all I did was sing non-stop, they called me Pavarotti.

I like to have conversations. All you have to do is listen to me!

My sister and I were rescued from the San Jose shelter, where we were both sick with colds, and were going to be put to sleep if no one could take us home.  The Fat Cat people saw our pics and even tough we were black (black cats are notoriously hard to find homes for!) they took pity on us and took us home.

I grew kinda big and I'm probably not done growing.  I'm very sweet and dear and like to be picked up and kissed and just hang around people.  I'm gentle with other cats too.

The Fat Cat people noticed that both me and my sister had something wrong with our eyes, and took me to the vet and the vet said we have cataracts (I think it's spelled CATaracts).  I can see OK out of that eye, and it doesn't affect my playing one bit!  I can play with other cats just fine!

Pinky: Happy holidays!

Pinky

Hi, I'm Pinky.  My sister Polkadot and me need a home.  We are both big, beautiful kittens and can't figure out why we haven't had any luck getting a new home; our new foster mom loves us to bits and describes us as "beyond lovely."  It's a challenge to tell us apart, but I have a long grey streak on the top of my head, and Polky's are more like spots.

I'm the adventurous and curious one, and love to climb and jump.  My most recent project is trying to determine exactly who or what is on the other side of every closed door in my new foster home.  I'm very loving, quiet, mellow and gentle, and love to be around people, and purr loudly when I'm petted.  I like other cats, and am a brave girl -- I'm not even afraid of the vacuum cleaner.  I also love kisses on my head and will head butt you until you pay attention.

My foster mom describes me as loving, quiet, mellow and gentle. My favorite routine is to hunt and play with my fuzzy mouse, and then plop down on my back and ask to have my tummy gently rubbed. I'm a foodie, and like to eat!  I like other cats, and love being around people.  My foster mom says I'm a content little kitten that's always purring.

Red

Red

Hi, my name is Red.  My sibs and me were rescued from the parking lot of a local tech company.  I am the biggest boy of the group and a very handsome orange kitten with a white chest and four white feet.  I am a quiet explorer and like to look out the window.  I play and wrestle with my sisters, but also groom them occasionally because I’m the big brother.  I have a big purr and don’t mind getting picked up for snuggles.  I’m not a lap kitten, but I do like to lean my face against my foster mom and follow her around to get some extra TLC.  If you’re looking for a kitten that is affectionate and independent, I would make you a great companion!

Come meet me and take me home!

Riley

My siblings and I were dumped at a local shelter when we were tiny babies.  We were emaciated, and very small for our ages, and weighed less than half of what we should have weighed for our ages.  A kind employee at the shelter took us to her home where she fed us and loved us, and the shelter contacted the Fat Cat people to see if they could take us. My sisters were adopted.

I'm a very sweet and gentle boy.  I'm not exactly what you call handsome: I've got real long legs, and I'm kinda skinny, but I've been told I have a cute face, so at least I got that going for me.  I'm very curious, and like people.  I like other cats too, and would probably do well in a quiet home without real small children or dogs (I've never met one, but I've heard gossip that they don't like cats).

Right now the Fat Cat people would like to place me in a foster home and see how I do on my own.  I think I'll be fine cuzz I could get all the attention that I normally have to share.

Rouge

Rouge

Hi, my name is Rouge! I am a very pretty girl with the lightest colored fur out of all my siblings - a beautiful light orange, almost buff color with four white feet. I am very friendly and affectionate, and I get along great with kids and other cats!  In addition to playing with my sister and my cat toys, I enjoy looking out the window or sitting in a warm sunbeam. I don’t like to be by myself, and I would love to be adopted with my sister Ruby. My fur is very soft with very subtle stripes. I have a very calm and loving personality. I would make you a wonderful companion. Won’t you come take me home?

Hello, my name is Ruby! I’m a beautiful, orange striped kitten, with an extremely sweet personality and a talent for climbing. I am very loving and friendly with people, including kids!, as well as other cats. I am very curious about my surroundings, and like to perch from up high to survey my surroundings. But I also like to climb into my foster mom’s lap for some extra TLC or curl up next to her and take a peaceful nap. I am very quiet and I show my affection by my actions, not words. I would love to find a forever home with my sister, Rouge. We love each other so much and play together every day. Come and meet me!

We're stars! Maybe you didn't get a chance to see our pictures in the Los Altos Town Crier, but we made the FRONT PAGE! Look here! We're local celebrities! That's my brother, Simon, being held by my dad, and mom is holding me.

We were rescued from a nice lady's yard in Los Altos. Next door to the lady's house, a new house was being built, and we kept running and hiding in the house during construction, even hiding in the newly-installed kitchen cabinets. It was great fun! Anyway, the owners of the house under construction didn't share our enthusiasm, and decided we needed to get outta there, since it was very dangerous. The lady asked the Fat Cat people to rescue us and find us homes.  Our momma was a Siamese, and that's where we got our big ears!

My nickname is "Velcro" because the moment anyone comes in and visits, I'm on them like, well, you know... If they don't happen to notice me (it does happen), I nudge them with my nose, and burrow my head in between their arm and their body. That usually works. If they still haven't noticed me -- by this time something must be wrong with them -- I'll flop down on their feet, so if they wanna go anywhere they'll HAVE to pet me!

Tatiana

Here's my story: The Fat Cat people were visiting the shelter last summer.  They had looked at all the kittens and picked the ones they were going to take home (and save), and were all set to leave when a staff person said "I've got one more to show you, a pretty one" and led them to my cage.  I was really tiny, and they saw me and said they'll take me, and then YEAH! I got out of the shelter.

I have been living with my foster family since I was three weeks old.  I am so cute that they decided to adopt me and give me a forever home – at least that’s what we all thought. My family has two older cats they adopted from Fat Cat Rescue several years ago, and one of them just doesn’t seem to like me. I can’t figure out why. I am so adorable, I would find it hard not to love me. But maybe that’s the problem – I’m so cute that the other cat is jealous.  So my family has decided it would be best if I find another forever home, but they will be very sad when I leave. The other cat adores me, and we have fun cuddling and taking naps together. I’m at the perfect age – I still act like a kitten, and I’m still cute like a kitten, but I’m smart enough now to know right from wrong.

I have always been a pretty calm kitten. But when you are ready to play with me, I will be so happy that I will reward you with my entertaining antics. I greet my family every morning by throwing myself on the floor at their feet and I tell them “Pet my tummy! Pet my tummy!” How can you not love me? I have a delightful chirping meow, and my family tells me I sound like a little bird. And my fur is gorgeous! It’s super, super soft – almost like a bunny’s fur. The colors are a combination of dark chocolate, caramel, and vanilla.  I love to eat. I would have to say that getting loved and eating are my two favorite things in this world. I will literally eat anything, so my family has to stay on their toes if any food drops on the ground. And every night at dinner, I curl up on their laps just to smell the delicious food!

Don’t I sound purrfect? I will love you unconditionally! Please, please, please, pick me!

I do my own thing. Don't get me wrong, I love people and love to be held. But there's a big world out there, and I've got alot of exploring to do; I'm a very busy kitten. I'm the first to investigate a new situation (and get into trouble), and the first to be scolded. But I take it all in stride. I'm the biggest of the clan, but I'm not a bully; I love my siblings and any other cats. My brothers Bingley and Mr. Darcy, and sisters Elizabeth and Zoe, were rescued from a shelter in Fresno.

Me and my brother Trooper were rescued from a wood pile when we were little.  He recently found his forever home, but I'm still looking.

I'm a BIG boy -- I got big feet, and even though I'm big, I'm just a giant baby. I like to think I'm still a tiny kitten, and crawl into my foster mom's lap when she's on the computer. Problem is, I'm so big there isn't much room left on her lap for me.  But never mind -- I still do it, cuzz I get alot of attention and pets that way!  I'd do best in a quiet home, and I'm very affectionate.

Won't you take me home?

Trevor

Trevor

Greetings, I am Trevor!  When my brother Tucker and I were two months old, we were brought to the shelter by someone who had been feeding us at an apartment complex in Mountain View.  The people at the shelter thought we were feral, but when the Fat Cat Rescue people started to pet us and we began to purr, they realized that we weren't feral, just scared!  And that's how we joined the Fat Cat Rescue adoption club.

I am a grey tabby with black stripes, a white chest and four white feet.  I have golden brown eyes and when I sit down, I will sometimes cross my front paws together like a gentleman.  I do not talk very much - I am a kitten of action, not words!  I love running around with my brother and exploring my foster home.  It takes me a little while to get used to strangers, but once I get to know you, I love being picked up and held.  In fact, when you're not looking, I will wiggle my way to your lap.  I love feather toys and I have a little black mouse that I like to carry upstairs and downstairs in my mouth for maximum playtime.  I am a happy and friendly little boy and I even like to make friends with grown-up cats too.  Come and meet me!

Trooper

Trooper

Hi! My name is Trooper! I am a great BIG (and I mean BIG) tabby with soft brown fur, beautiful green eyes, and a love for climbing into people’s laps.

My siblings and I were born in a wood pile, and I was adopted as a kitten.  I came back to the Fat Cat people about five years later, so I'm looking for another home and a new someone to love me.  Even though I did not expect to find myself in need of another forever home, I have adjusted amazingly well to my new foster home.

I love to be around people and get along great with other cats. I am very good friends with a foster kitten named Hank (he is up for adoption too!) and it would be wonderful if we could be adopted together. I love play-wrestling and grooming him and when we take naps together in the cat bed, I hold him close in a comforting snuggle. My foster mom says that our interactions together bring out the kitten in me and really shows what a loving heart I have.

My area of expertise is finding spontaneous moments to climb into my foster mom’s lap for extra attention and love. I am a very active and curious cat, which can sometimes get me into trouble because if I find socks or clothes left on the floor, I may be tempted to chew on them when I get bored. I am learning this is not an acceptable thing to do.  I am a very affectionate boy with lots of love to give. All I need is a special person to devote my heart to – with bonus snuggles.

Won’t you take me home -- with Hank?  We would do well in a quiet home without children or dogs.

Hi there, my name is Tucker.  When my brother Trevor and I were two months old, we were brought to the shelter by someone who had been feeding us at an apartment complex in Mountain View.  The people at the shelter thought we were feral, but when the Fat Cat Rescue people started to pet us and we began to purr, they realized that we weren't feral, just scared!  And that's how we joined the Fat Cat Rescue adoption club.

I am a Tuxedo kitten with silky black fur, a white chest and four white feet.  I love going on adventures with my brother Trevor.  We chase each other around and we like to wrestle.  Once in a while, I'll meow softly to let you know that I'm feeling excited and happy.  Otherwise, I'm a pretty quiet boy.  When it's time for a rest, I will cuddle next to my foster mom on the couch and have a snooze.  When I'm in between adventures, I don't mind being picked up for some love and attention.  I like being held - it's nice to be appreciated for my soft fur and all around cuteness.  Let's meet!

Vito

Vito

We were picked up when we were babies from an industrial area in Santa Clara.  Our mom had us in a well where there was lots of machinery.  Some workers heard our cries and picked us up and called the Fat Cat people.

I am the affectionate big brother of four siblings. I will groom my siblings. Sometimes I even keep Vivian at the front door in case she feels lonely. I enjoy playing. Give me anything -- stringed toys, mice toys or boxes I will play until I drop. I love running around the apartment at full speed, maneuvering turns, skidding after the feather teaser. Although I am shy at first, I just need a soft pat on my head to warm up to you.
I will follow you around or at times just lazily sit in the sun observing you intently. When I want to sleep, I will find a place close to you or sometimes just get into your lap for a cuddle.

I am very energetic and get along well with everyone. My foster mum absolutely loves me because I am the most obedient of all. You don't need to drag me to bed or scold me to stop being naughty. You tell me once and I will sit there like a good boy. However please note I can be mischievous if you are not giving me enough attention. I get intrigued by laptops and mobiles especially when there is a video playing. I will sit on the keyboard and work with you sometimes. I can also keep you company when you are filing papers. What can I say? I am really good at office jobs. :D

Yo Yo: I need a hug

Yo Yo

Hi, my name is Yo Yo! I am a slender white tabby with big, soulful eyes.  I was rescued from a shelter and was adopted as a kitten.  I came back to the Fat Cat people a couple years later because my owner was too ill to care for me.  I was left on my own a lot, so I used to feel pretty insecure about asking for TLC from people.  Now, I am really good at going to my foster mom for loving pets and hugs all the time, taking naps next her and my foster brothers on the sofa, and purring my heart out.  I am still not quite used to getting picked up – I can get around just fine on my own, thank you!

I have a very playful and curious personality.  I do not meow very much, but when I do, it's because I'm wondering what's going on or I just thought of a fun thing to do.  I enjoy looking out the window and spending quality time soaking up the sunshine every day.  My dream is to find a forever home where I can get lots of love and attention and share my own heart in return.  I'm a gentle, sweet boy.  My foster mom recently had her floors refinished, and as you can see it was up to me to inspect the work!
